We aim to get up to 10 meeting introductions for each manager. The average is around eight. If you get less than six meetings scheduled you may cancel and be refunded.
We build up the draft list of investors for a specific event and publish this about 10 days before an event to managers that have registered. For past investors attending and typical characteristics, please see our brochure.
We offer a Secured Investor Interest Guarantee, by which you have the option to cancel and get refunded prior an event if you receive less than six investor meeting requests. We notify managers four days before an event about the numbers of investors that have requested to meet with them and who they are.
We share the managers' strategy description, AUM size and performance with investors. The investors can also ask to see the full fund summary or presentation.
The team at Catalyst come from alternative investing backgrounds and have built up wide networks of investors and allocators. The firm works hard to recruit new investors by targeted invitations, referrals from industry colleagues and media partnerships, as well as retaining current investors in the network that have proven their allocation ability.
All new investors that want to join an event undergo a pre-screening process by Catalyst. This entails an investor filling out an investor profile questionnaire by joining the ‘Catalyst Capital Network’. Often also someone in the Catalyst team talks to the investor to confirm their eligibility and discuss their allocation interests. If an investor has a specific limitation, for example they only invest in Long Only funds or don’t pay performance fees, we do our best to inform the managers about this.
Typically, when investors request their manager meetings, they don't select managers that they know since previously or that they can't/don't have any interest in investing with. In addition, once the draft lift of investors is published, a manager may tell Catalyst of their preferences regarding the investor group, and we can take off any names that you already know
Virtually all investors are qualified investors per SEC regulations, and this is one of the questions we ask investors prior events. However, Catalyst doesn't verify this information as it's information given voluntarily.

This is a 5-7 minute stand-alone talk meant to give an introduction to what your fund does, what your strategy is about and how you add value to investors. There is no AV equipment, but participants have the fund summaries in the event binders.
A manager typically gets a dedicated, private, closed doors meeting room to which we rotate investors every 35 minutes. Managers are free to bring any materials to the meeting.
There is no media attending the lunch or meeting sessions. Occasionally we have media and other industry representatives joining the wine reception.
No, there are only investment managers and investors/allocators at the main sessions of the event.
